The First Baptist Youth Ministry exists to:

 

  • Provide opportunities for youth to celebrate God’s presence.
  •  Reach non-believing students.
  •  Provide opportunities for youth to connect with other Christians.
  • Provide opportunities for youth to grow in their faith.
  • Help youth gain an understanding of their spiritual gifts and put them into practice through ministry and missions.
  • Assist and strengthen families.

 

Weekly Programs

Youth Sunday School is for students in grades 6-12, and meets at 9:30am each Sunday in the FLC/Gym. Students meet for an hour in grade-specific classes for a time of discipleship and education. Our curriculum is KNOWN, which helps students to develop spiritually by knowing God, owning their faith, and making God known.

Youth Choir and Handbells

Sunday Night Live meets each Sunday night at 6:00pm in the Gym. Through the use of high-energy games and teambuilding activities, students in grades 6-12 come together to learn spiritual truths each week.  Following Sunday Night Live, we have a snack supper each week.

Youth Accountability Groups meet each Wednesday night at 6:00pm in the FLC/Classroom A. The small groups of 2-5 students and an adult meet together each week for a time of support, encouragement, and accountability. Groups are gender and grade-focused, and meet for an hour each week.

Other events throughout the year include local mission events, Fifth Quarter Nights, Youth Christmas Party, Lock-Ins, Super Bowl Party, and a Pre-Prom Party. 

Parents/Families

One of the goals of our youth ministry is to strengthen and assist families. Through Bible studies, Parent/Teen nights, and other resources, we seek to partner with parents to help them make positive spiritual impressions on the lives of their teens.

One valuable resource is Heart Connex, a free bi-weekly family e-Devotional for parents to share with their teens during family devotion times. Each study contains solid Bible teaching and a relevant prayer focus. Parents can sign up for Heart Connex today at www.lifeway.com/heartconnex.
