At First Baptist, we value worship, and we believe that music is an integral part of our worship. 

Children’s Choir

Our preschool and children’s choirs are led by talented and creative teachers who are committed to sharing God's love with every child through His gift of music. Your child will learn basics of music including movement, instruments, singing skills, scripture, Bible stories and music fundamentals.


Children’s Handbells

Children’s handbells is a great way to teach music fundamentals, a great way to teach teamwork, and it’s a great way to help children understand that there are many ways we worship God.  We feel that’s it’s important for children to understand that they are not too young to lead in worship, and they do that when they play handbells in church. 

Piano Class

We believe it’s our responsibility to help nurture and develop tomorrow’s church musicians.  That’s why we offer piano classes to our children in grades 2-5. 

Youth Choir

The youth choir at our church is a vibrant and exciting group of 6^th-12^th graders.  Our youth have the opportunity to learn contemporary music, traditional music, as well as some classical music that they would ordinarily not have a chance to be exposed to.  Our youth choir participates in several youth choir festivals during the year to provide them with other opportunities of singing God’s praises with young people from all across the state.

Youth Handbells

Our youth handbell choir is another example of opportunities our young people have to worship God through music, to lead in worship, and to further develop their musical skills. 

Sanctuary Choir

Our sanctuary choir leads in worship every Sunday.  The Sanctuary Choir sings a variety of musical styles including traditional hymn arrangements, spirituals, gospel pieces, contemporary Christian arrangements, and classical sacred music.  The Sanctuary Choir is made up of a group of dedicated church members who enjoy fun and fellowship as they sing together but who also take seriously their role as worship leaders.

Adult Handbell Choirs

Our adult handbell choirs provide another avenue of service to our church and at the same time provide opportunities for fun and fellowship with fellow ringers.

Orchestra

Our church is working to train and develop a church orchestra.  This orchestra is made up of youth and adults in our church who come together to offer God their worship through music.

Senior Adults

Our Senior Adult Choir is called the Martha Franks Singers.  The Singers meet weekly along with some of the residents of Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center to sing praises to God.  The Martha Franks Singers travel around the state to sing at other churches and for other senior adult groups.
